There are many Video Cards available on the Market.
There are several that are top of the line. The 2 that are at the xtreme top, are the
Nvidia GeForce FX 6800 Ultra
ATI Radeon x800 xt pe (platitnum edition)
Out of these 2, my favorite is the x800, being that it only occupies one slot. The 6800 Ultra occupies the AGP or PCI-X
and the ajacent PCI slot. The 6800 Ultra also requires a great amount of power, which consists of 2 power connectors. Which
means that upon the greater price than the x800, you also may have to buy a new PSU (Power Supply Unit). The minimum you can
probably run this video card on is a system with at least a 400Watt psu.
However, the x800 has some disadvantages also, it doesn't support CineFex 3.0, a new technology which will be released
in future games. This may be considered a big deal, but by the time that CineFex is used in new games, it will be time to
buy a new video card anyway. Modern games are just beginning the use Cine-Fex 2.0, which is used only when you trun the graphics
up to the highest on games like FAR CRY.
So Basically
-x800
6800 Ultra
single slot solution
occupies 2 slots
uses minimal power reqs consumes crazy
amounts of power
supports CineFex 2.0
Supports Cinefex 3.0
That sums it all up. Whichever card you decide to go with, you are going to have one Kick @$$ card.
